Tracking afternoon showers and storms with cooler weekend highs

Today: Scattered showers and storms will continue to pull through Central Missouri this afternoon. A few storms to the southeast along the I-44 corridor may become stronger with gusty winds and strong downpours being the main threats. Afternoon highs warm to the mid-80's.

Tonight: Showers and storms will push out early tonight leading to mostly cloudy sky conditions as overnight lows reach the upper 60's.

Extended: Skies look to remain partly cloudy Friday and Saturday with highs into the lower 80's. A few showers may reach southern counties of Central Missouri, but overall the majority of the area will remain dry. A low pressure system pulls back into Central Missouri Sunday afternoon leading to increased chances of scattered shower's and storms lasting into Monday. Conditions will once again return back to dry and warm mid-week next week thanks to a high pressure system forming out to the west.
