Tracking more rain and a few storms overnight into Thursday morning

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with storms likely after midnight, especially south of I-70. Lows in the lower 70s.

TOMORROW: Showers and storms in the morning, shifting south of I -70 during the afternoon. Highs reaching the lower 80s.

EXTENDED: Most of the evening will remain dry with the exception of locations south of I-44, where scattered storms are possible by early evening. Another round of storms is expected to develop along a cold front working south across Mid-Missouri well after midnight, bringing an additional inch or so of rain for areas along and south of I-70 through midday Thursday. As the front slides south, winds will shift to the north and rain will be forced to the south of the front by Thursday night. We can expect a gorgeous end to the week with rain chances staying just south of our area. We'll start out in the 60s on Friday morning with highs in the lower 80s with much more sunshine. The weekend starts off great in the lower 60s on Saturday morning, and highs in the low 80s. The front stalled out across the Missouri and Arkansas border will move back north toward our area on Sunday, triggering scattered showers and storms by afternoon. Temperatures also begin to warm as winds shift to the south, bringing us back into the mid-upper 80s. Next week, we'll have a chance for a few showers or storms on Monday, but begin to head back into a drier pattern by Tuesday. As upper high pressure begins to build again, we'll see temperatures returning to the 90s with limited rain chances.
