Tracking a few more showers and storms tonight before clearing Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and a few storms. Additional rainfall amounts between 0.25" to 0.5". Lows in the upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Gradual clearing and less humid with highs in the low to mid-70s.

EXTENDED: Scattered showers and a few storms are working in again from the west, bringing an additional 0.25" to 0.5" of rainfall to the area tonight. Clouds finally exit from north to south tomorrow, leaving us with a north breeze and temperatures about 7-9 degrees cooler than normal as we drop into the 70s for highs. Sunshine finally makes a return with high pressure overhead through Friday, but the active pattern sets in again by the weekend as a slow moving front stalls out to our north on Saturday. The start of the day looks dry, but there could be some storms developing along that boundary by afternoon as a disturbance rolls along the front. A few storms may be strong given the ingredients into Saturday night. Similar conditions are expected Sunday as the front continues to hang out across northern Missouri, with scattered showers and storms possible in the afternoon. The upper level flow will be from the northwest for much of next week, sending waves of energy our way to trigger rounds of rain and storms. The daily rain chances will keep temperatures in the 70s for much of the week. Total rainfall amounts in the next 7 days will be around 1-1.5".
