Tracking a frost, freeze, and warmup that returns storms next week

TONIGHT

This afternoon we will still be tracking light rain and perhaps even snow showers. With that said, temperatures are already in the mid to upper 30's as I write this in the late morning hours. As temperatures struggle towards 40, we expect to lose the snow flurry chance, and will lean towards a forecast of showers. Either way, don't expect much impact from today's activity. Tonight precipitation will wind down for most around 7 p.m. with clouds clearing not far behind.

TOMORROW

Friday's breezy conditions will die down overnight as high pressure squeezes in. Add clear skies for early Saturday morning, and we have a recipe for a cold start. Temperatures will bottom out in the low 30's and upper 20's, leading to a widespread frost, if not a hard freeze for some. We’ll thaw out on Saturday with sunshine making a return. Highs tomorrow will reach the 50’s.

EXTENDED

The warmup is full steam ahead, and carries us to near 70 by Sunday. We’ll hang on to the 70’s for the first half of next week, but it will come at a cost. Daily chances for showers and storms will roll through Sunday night through Wednesday. Some of these could be strong to severe, so stay with the forecast as we iron out the details. The rain will start to fizzle towards Thursday, but the cooler air will make a return to end the week, with highs falling into the 60’s.
