Tracking the return of showers and storms today

SHOWERS STORMS
KMIZ

TUESDAY

A few of us are waking up to some light showers this morning. Those will stay with us until midday when they move east, making way for a few peeks of sunshine this afternoon. Highs will top out in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Storms look to fire back up around 4-5 PM and could become strong initially. Some small hail and gusty winds will be the biggest threats to look out for.

TONIGHT

That limited severe window will close around 8-9 PM tonight but the rain will keep going. Overnight lows will fall into the low to mid 40’s.

EXTENDED

Light to moderate rain will stay with us until sunrise on Wednesday. The rest of the day is looking dry but cooler, with highs in the low 60’s. A few more showers will return on Thursday, but will stay fairly light. We still can’t rule out a few wet snowflakes mixing in Thursday night, but not enough to make an impact. Highs will fall into the 50’s on Thursday, and into the 40’s by Friday. We kick the rain out by Friday and we’ll kick the cooler weather out this weekend. Highs will warm into the 60’s by Saturday, and make it into the 70’s Sunday.
