Tracking a few showers tonight, storms late tomorrow

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with a few showers possible, mainly south of Highway 50. Lows in the upper 40s.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny with highs in the mid-upper 60s. Showers and storms return by dusk, and a few could bring isolated strong winds and small hail.

EXTENDED:  High clouds are starting to filter in ahead of a chance for a few showers overnight as low pressure slides by to our south. A couple showers may linger into the morning, but most of Tuesday is mild and breezy with temperatures reaching the upper 60s. A cold front approaching from the west will trigger scattered showers and storms late tomorrow afternoon into the evening, bringing about 0.5" of rain. A couple storms by around 5-7 PM may be on the stronger side ahead of the front, with 1" hail possible. The window for isolated strong storms will be short, with plain rain spreading across Mid-Missouri tomorrow night into very early Wednesday morning. Low pressure to our north will drag a weaker cold front across the Midwest Wednesday into Thursday, bringing cooler air by Thursday and Friday, with highs in the upper 40s to around 50. Thursday and Friday nights could bring widespread frost with temperatures falling into the lower 30s. The weekend is looking dry with highs in the mid-50s on Saturday, and near 70 on Sunday. Next week looks active and warmer with temps starting off in the 70s on Monday.
