Tracking freezing temperatures overnight, warmer weekend

TONIGHT: Gradual clearing and winds diminishing. Temperatures dropping into the upper 20s to around 30.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: Clouds hold on through much of the afternoon and evening, but will gradually decrease overnight. Winds will also begin to die down, allowing temperatures to drop off considerably by Friday morning. Most areas get into the upper 20s to around 30, so count on frost by daybreak. A Freeze Warning is in effect until 9:00 a.m. for much of Mid-Missouri where the growing season has started. Sunshine and south winds will get us back into the mid-upper 50s. Another fast moving system will bring a front through the area on Friday night, bringing a chance of showers likely after 10:00-11:00 p.m. through mid-morning Saturday. Lingering clouds could stick around through noon or so, but we still manage to get to about 60 on Saturday even with a northwest breeze. Sunday will be warmer in the mid-60s, but clouds increase during the day ahead of our next rain chance. Showers move in late Sunday into Monday, and rain could continue through much of the week with multiple disturbances moving through. Severe weather doesn't look likely, but we could end up with another inch of rain through the next week. We'll be trending cooler by the end of the week with highs getting back into the 50s and lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.
