Tracking a cool and dry weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and windy with lows in the lower 30s. Wind gusts between 20-25 mph.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the lower 50s.

EXTENDED:  The weekend is cooler than average with a weak front sliding by tonight. That will bring us down to near freezing by tomorrow morning and highs only reach the low 50s. Sunday will feature similar temperatures but a slightly cooler start  in the morning. There could be a weak disturbance sliding by on Sunday, bringing a few sprinkles early in the day. Temperatures remain around 50. Next week starts off warmer with a warm front lifting north Monday into Tuesday, bringing us to near 60 on Monday and into the 70s by Tuesday. A strong low pressure system is expected to develop across the Plains and move in our direction by Tuesday night, bringing overnight rain and storms. Rain is likely just about all day on Wednesday, tapering off by early Thursday morning. We'll fall back into the upper 40s in the wake of that system on Thursday, with highs in the upper 50s on Friday. Rain looks to stay to our south for the start of next weekend for now.
