Tracking lingering showers with chances of early morning snow

Today: A light drizzle continues throughout Central Missouri thanks to a slow-moving low-pressure system parked overhead. The afternoon high climbs to the mid-'40s remaining well below average.

Tonight: Off and on light showers continue as temperatures fall to the mid-'30s with winds remaining out of the northwest. Wind gusts top out near 25 mph.

Extended: Early morning snow chances increase thanks to cooler upper airflow. Thankfully, surface temperatures remain well above freezing allowing for little no accumulations with up to a dusting of slush possible. Snow switches back over to rain as temperatures increase by mid-morning. Temperatures begin a warming trend into the weekend with drier conditions expected thanks to a nearby high-pressure system.
