Tracking rain overnight into Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with rain and a few thunderstorms moving in after midnight. Lows in the upper 40s.

TOMORROW: Rain likely with a few rumbles of thunder possible. Highs in the upper 50s early, with temperatures falling into the 40s by late afternoon.

EXTENDED: It's been a gorgeous Thursday with temperatures soaring into the 70s, but cloud cover starts to work its way in by this evening as low pressure tracks to our south and a cold front starts to work in from the west. Showers are expected to develop after midnight, with a few thunderstorms possible into Friday. No severe weather is expected as temperatures remain in the upper 40s overnight. As the cold front slides southeast tomorrow, rain will continue throughout the day with temperatures cooling into the lower 40s from north to south. Showers will begin to diminish late Friday night, but clouds hang on into sunrise Saturday. We'll start off cold on Saturday morning with lows in the mid-upper 30s, but as skies clear sunshine will warm us into the mid-upper 50s during the day. Winds shift back southwest on Sunday, bringing temperatures back to near 70. Clouds work in on Monday, but we still manage to get into the upper 60s before our next low pressure system tracks across the region by late afternoon and evening. Rain and a few thunderstorms are likely Monday into Tuesday, bringing our rain total between what we get tomorrow and early next week up to about two inches. We'll cool back into the 50s by Wednesday behind that cold front, which is seasonable for this time of year.
