Tracking another day in the 70s, rain overnight tomorrow
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and nice with lows in the upper 40s to around 50.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny early, increasing clouds by afternoon. Highs in the low to mid-70s.
EXTENDED: We get another day to enjoy warm temperatures tomorrow before rain moves in and cools us down at the end of the week. We drop to about 50 tonight, which is about 15 degrees warmer than normal for this time in March. Typically, our average last frost for Columbia is around April 10, so we have a awhile until we can safely start planting. Tomorrow is a gorgeous day with highs soaring to near 75 again with winds coming from the south. Clouds start to increase ahead of a cold front that will work in from the west Thursday night, bringing the potential for showers likely after midnight. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible, but severe weather isn't expected. The big thing that has changed since yesterday is the exit time of rain. It looks like showers could stick around into Friday night, keeping us in the 40s during the day, and potentially bringing temperatures on Saturday down a hair if clouds linger into early afternoon. I'm expecting about 1" or so of rain with this batch. The weekend still looks great with highs in the upper 50s to around 60 on Saturday, and even warmer on Sunday as we approach 70 again with sunshine. Next week starts off active and mild with high temperatures in the 60s and another low pressure system bringing rain late Monday through Tuesday. An additional inch of rain is expected with that round as it moves out later on Tuesday.
