Tracking one last quiet day before winter returns tomorrow

SUNNY START
KMIZ

WEDNESDAY

Things are staying fairly settled this afternoon. We’ll wake up to some sunshine but clouds look to make a return later today. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 40’s this afternoon.

TONIGHT

With those clouds acting like a blanket tonight, overnight lows will only fall to about 30.

EXTENDED

But that’s plenty cold to bring back some snow to Mid-Missouri on Thursday. Those flakes will push into northwestern parts of the viewing area tomorrow morning and will be hesitant to slide south during the day. Temperatures south of I-70 will make it into the 40’s before cooling off overnight. As the sun sets, the snow will start to push further southeast. Most of us can expect about 1-3” when this system exits Friday morning. Temperatures will be stuck in the freezer Friday, even after the snow departs. Highs will only reach the low 30’s, falling into the teens Friday night. We’re left with one more cold day on Saturday with temperatures fighting to get back to the freezing mark before warming into the upper 50’s on Sunday. We’ll hang onto the warm weather into next week, with a slim chance to pick up some showers Monday.
