Tracking some more sleet and snow for Mid-Missouri

EVENING COMMUTE IMPACTS
KMIZ

WEDNESDAY

We’re waking up in the cold, but sunshine will start us off on a bright note this morning. Clouds will return by midday as our next system pushes in. A wintry mix of sleet and snow will return this afternoon and evening, impacting the evening commute. Minor accumulations are expected with this round as highs top out in the mid to upper 20’s.

TONIGHT

A break in the activity is expected tonight, but some of us will hang on to some freezing drizzle. We can’t rule out some folks picking up a glaze of ice by tomorrow morning. Lows will hold steady in the low 20’s.

EXTENDED

Our next round of winter weather builds back in Thursday morning. Another mix of sleet and snow will overspread the region, renewing or worsening road conditions in time for the morning commute. This round looks to last through the afternoon before tapering off late Thursday. 1-3” of snow can be expected for most of us, with some heavier amounts of sleet mixing in south of I-70. We quiet down on Friday as highs fight to get back to the freezing mark. We’ll surpass the freezing mark on Saturday and Sunday, getting into the 40’s. That slow warming trend continues into next week, with highs in the 50’s by the middle of next week.
