Snow accumulation through this evening for parts of the area, more on the way tomorrow
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a few light snow showers or patchy freezing drizzle. Lows in the upper teens. Slick spots possible, especially south of I-70 into Thursday morning.
TOMORROW: Cloudy and cold with snow showers likely through evening. Highs in the mid-20s.
EXTENDED: Precipitation stays along and south of I-70 with this first batch that is expected to track northeast through about 6-7:00 p.m.. There will likely be road impacts south of this corridor into tonight, with the potential of freezing drizzle overnight area-wide. The second wave of wintry precipitation will be predominantly snow for more of Mid-Missouri starting by mid-morning tomorrow. There could be more sleet for locations south of Highway 50 with a change to all snow by early afternoon. That wave will likely exit well before midnight Thursday evening, with 1-3" of total accumulation likely. Temperatures fall into the upper teens Friday morning, keeping things slick for the morning commute before warming up to near freezing with more sunshine by afternoon. The weekend looks warmer with highs in the lower to mid-40s, and more seasonable temperatures to start next week as we climb into the 50s starting Tuesday.
