Tracking a big warmup before another taste of winter

Today: Temperatures warm quickly near 60 degrees thanks to a southerly breeze. Wind gusts reach around 30 mph with sunny skies.

Tomorrow: Clouds return ahead of a front but temperatures will be able to reach a few degrees higher to the low 60s.

Extended: Scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder are possible as the front pushes through Monday night. Temperatures drop rapidly behind this Tuesday and we fall below freezing heading into Wednesday. Two waves will sweep through the region midweek; the first on Wednesday may bring a chance for snow to the south, while deep low pressure follows on Thursday for more widespread chances of wintry precipitation.
