Tracking a warm afternoon ahead of an impactful system

get out and enjoy today
KMIZ

TUESDAY

A fantastic day taking shape this afternoon. Plenty of sunshine and a breeze picking up out of the south with bump temperatures into the low to mid 60’s! Winds will gust out of the south up to 25 mph, and as dry as it is, outdoor burning is being discouraged today.

TONIGHT

Those winds will stay with us overnight and we’ll mix in a few more clouds. Lows will only fall to about 50.

EXTENDED

Rain moves back in Wednesday afternoon after a warm start. Highs will manage to reach the upper 50’s despite the abundant cloud cover. Those warm temperatures will begin to cool Wednesday afternoon, eventually reaching the freezing mark near midnight. That rain will transition over to freezing rain and sleet early Thursday morning, before becoming all snow after sunrise. This system could bring about an inch of rain, and 2-4” of a wintry mix but these numbers could change between now and then. Be sure to stay up with the forecast as we approach Thursday. Regardless of the exact numbers, roads will be in poor shape throughout the day. We’ll right the ship into the weekend, warming into the 40’s Friday and Saturday. Highs will approach 60 by Sunday and Monday.
