Tracking more up-and-down temperatures coming

ONE LAST DAY IN THE 50S
KMIZ

WEDNESDAY

We’re off to a mild start once again but in the process of sliding some cooler air in. Temperatures will still make it into the low 50’s by this afternoon. Winds will turn more northwesterly throughout the day, gusting up to 30 mph.

TONIGHT

Under more partly cloudy skies, temperatures will fall a bit more than they have recently, into the upper 20’s. The cool breeze will back off after sunset.

EXTENDED

With a cooler start and winds out of the northwest throughout the day, temperatures will be slower to warm tomorrow. Highs will only top out in the middle 40’s on Thursday. We swing those winds back out of the southwest Thursday night. That will set us up to bring back the 50’s one more time this week on Friday but a cold front is inching close. As it approaches, a few showers will be possible Friday morning, but even those won’t keep us from topping out in the low 50’s. This front has a better shot of cold air, bringing afternoon highs on Saturday all the way down into the upper 20’s. It’s short-lived, however, as temperature thaw out on Sunday into the middle 40’s. We’ll hang on to the 40’s and dry weather on Valentine’s Day itself before warming back up by the middle of next week. A pattern chance will start to take place, giving us better chances for precipitation next Wednesday.
