ABC 17 STORMTRACK WEATHER APP: How to receive push notifications

Push notifications from the Stormtrack Weather app allow you to get important and immediate weather alerts on your phone in a way that gets your attention.

When you first download the app, it will ask you if we can use your location. Andriod users should select "allow" while using the app to get alerts based on your GPS location. iOS users should allow locations for this app in System Preferences. You'll also be asked if we can send you notifications, so please select "allow."

SELECTING LOCATIONS AND ALERTS

In the app, scroll down the homepage and select "alerts." This will tell you about active and recent alerts for your location.

Tap the location icon on the upper right. The default location will be based on your phone's GPS coordinates, but you can add other locations, too. Click on "alerts" to toggle them on and off.

Click on the dropdown arrow next to your location and then click "edit." This will take you to a screen where you can toggle different alert types on and off. Among them is "message from trained personnel," which will allow you to get alerts about Weather Alert Days.

Hit save when you've made your selections and you're done.

Download the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
