ABC 17 STORMTRACK WEATHER APP: How to set up alerts
The ABC 17 Stormtrack weather app allows you to get the latest forecasts and real-time updates in critical situations.
These updates can follow you wherever you go. Here's how to set up alerts on your Stormtrack app:
SETTING YOUR LOCATION
When you download the app, it will ask if it can use your location. Android users should select "allow while using app" so the app can send alerts based on GPS location. iOS users should allow locations for the app in their System Preferences. You'll be asked if we can send you notifications, so please select "allow."
SEEING YOUR ALERTS
To check alerts in your area, scroll down the home page and choose "alerts." This will show current and recent alerts in your area based on your location. Tap the location icon in the upper right corner to turn your current location based on your phone's GPS on and off. You can also add other locations here.
TURNING ALERTS ON OR OFF BY TYPE
Click on the dropdown arrow next to "My Current Location" and select "edit" to choose the type of alerts you want. You can turn each alert on and off by location, but make sure "alerts enabled" toggle is on to receive them.
