Tracking cooler temperatures and chances of rain ahead

Tonight: Scattered showers will continue to exit the region later this evening as winds begin to pick up out of the southeast at 10-15 mph with gusts into the '30s. The overnight low falls to 42 degrees.

Tomorrow: Monday remains calm and quiet as winds calm down by noon. Partly cloudy skies and temperatures into the lower '50s make for a great day to get outside for late December.

Extended: A more drastic cold front pushes into Central Missouri by Tuesday morning bringing with it widespread showers that will total up to 1" in most areas with isolated areas seeing up to 2". As the showers move out by Tuesday afternoon, temperatures begin to fall with overnight lows bottoming out into the low to mid-'20s this week. The rest of the week looks to remain dry until New Year's day where chances of showers increase.
