Tracking severe storms this afternoon

SUNDAY MORNING: A warm front lifting to the north will bring showers and storms throughout the morning. Chilly to start in the low 50s. Rain clears up a bit by late morning.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Clearing skies will further destabilize the atmosphere in the early afternoon, and a cold front moving in will work with that to produce potentially severe storms. Multiple impacts are possible including flooding, damaging winds, hail up to 1" and possibly a tornado. The severe window is open all afternoon and evening for Mid-Missouri. Storms will clear out quickly near 10 p.m. tonight for a chilly start to the workweek.

MONDAY: Dense cloud cover throughout the day will have highs struggling to reach the upper 50s. Some breezes will pick up during the day with wind gusts up to 22 mph.

EXTENDED: Tuesday will be seasonal and sunnier as highs creep to the low 60s. Another frontal system will already be moving in by the evening, though, and brings back rain chances through Thursday. This front looks much less heftier and will struggle to even bring thunderstorms to our area. It does look to keep fall conditions around the rest of the week and Halloween weekend will be dry and seasonal.
