Tracking mid-week storms and late week heat
Today: Most of the central and eastern regions of the United States will see a haze today due to continuous upper air smoke from the wildfires out west. Our high today increase to 90 degrees with mostly clear skies.
Tonight: Winds continue out of the southwest this evening leading to an above-average overnight low of 70 degrees and mostly clear sky conditions.
Extended: Tuesday begins mostly clear with an afternoon high of 89 degrees. Winds continue out of the south for the majority of the day until an approaching cold front moves in from the northwest. Ahead of this cold front, storms begin to develop across north-central Missouri with the risk of strong winds and isolated hail. By the early evening hours, the cold front stalls over Columbia leading to more widespread showers and storms that will last throughout the overnight and morning hours. By Wednesday afternoon, the cold front moves off to the southeast along with the showers and cloud cover. The high temperature drops to 82 on Wednesday and we see increasing temperatures into the '90s by the weekend with mostly clear skies.
