Tracking the return of summer heat

TODAY: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the mid-90s.

TOMORROW: Repeated conditions for Sunday - plenty of time to head outdoors this weekend!

EXTENDED: Southerly wind will funnel into mid-MO over the weekend to continue bringing heat and sunshine. This will last through Monday before a front arrives to cool things off. By Tuesday afternoon, we could see scattered showers and storms developing ahead of this front as it slowly works south. Showers and storms continue overnight into early Wednesday, clearing out during the day and cooling temperatures to the low 80s midweek. High pressure begins to build back in by late in the week/next weekend, showing signals we could be in for more above average heat.
