Tracking storms today and tomorrow, dry by Labor Day

TODAY: Scattered showers and storms this morning, clearing out late afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Another round of storms pop up by dinnertime, with more rain overnight.

TOMORROW: The heaviest rain will be moving through early on Saturday morning, but showers could last until the early afternoon. Showers and storms will slowly work south as a cold front crawls across Mid-MO through Saturday afternoon. The best shot of rain after midday on Saturday will be south of I-70, and eventually out of the area by late afternoon/early evening. Highs are still expected to rise, reaching the low 80s.

EXTENDED: Most of Mid-MO will see rain amounts up to 2" over the next couple days. Sunday starts our dry pattern and highs float around the mid-80s with less humidity. Labor Day is sunny and warm as temperatures climb a couple degrees warmer. Tuesday gets into the lower 90s, but the heat is short lived as a dry cold front comes through on Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing us back into the lower 80s with a mostly dry week ahead.
