Brutal heat and humidity hangs around all week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy with lows in the mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the upper 90s. Heat index up to 105.

EXTENDED: The Weather Alert Day continues through Thursday night as each day will get into the upper 90s with a heat index between 103-105. Rain chances will be limited to a few afternoon pop-up storms for the next several days, but as this strong high pressure moves east by Friday into Saturday we could cool a few degrees into the lower 90s. The heat index Friday into the weekend will still be in the upper 90s, so it won't feel much more comfortable. We'll finally get a little light at the end of the tunnel with our next cold front potentially moving in from the northwest Sunday into Monday, bringing a chance for showers and storms and temperatures back into the 80s.
