Tracking overnight storms, warm weekend
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy with storms moving in after midnight. Some storms could produce heavy rain and gusty winds. Lows in the lower 70s.
TOMORROW: Rain exits early, clouds gradually decrease. Highs in the upper 80s to around 90.
EXTENDED: We don't see more widespread rain and storms until after midnight as a line of storms develops to our northwest. Storms overnight could bring heavy rainfall and plenty of lightning along with a strong wind gust or two up to 40 mph. I am not expecting much severe weather for our area as the more favorable environment stays to our north. Showers and storms exit by mid-morning, leaving us with some cloud cover to start the weekend. We'll see clouds gradually decrease through the day and temperatures get into the upper 80s to around 90. With the cold front draped across the region, we'll run the risk of an isolated shower or storm, but most of the day looks dry. Sunday will be less humid as the front slides to our south, but it's short-lived as high pressure pushes the front back north on Monday and sends our temperatures into the mid-90s. We stay in the low to mid-90s through Wednesday with the heat index between 100-101. Rain chances increase a bit more toward the end of the week as the high retrogrades back west, and temperatures dip back to near normal.
