Tracking isolated storms and increasing humidity Thursday
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with showers and storms diminishing around sunset. Lows in the upper 60s to around 70.
TOMORROW: Partly sunny with isolated to scattered showers and storms. Highs in the upper 80s with a heat index in the lower 90s.
EXTENDED: Showers and storms should diminish with sunset, leaving us with patchy clouds and a muggy night as temperatures fall to about 70 degrees. Tomorrow looks very similar with highs in the upper 80s and isolated to scattered showers and storms through early to mid-evening. A cold front approaches from the northwest and sets up to our north on Friday, bringing a chance of scattered showers and storms, but it looks like we'll steer clear of the severe weather threat as the better ingredients look to stay to our north/northwest. The coverage looks a little lower than previously forecast as well. Rain amounts should end up under 0.5" for most of Mid-MO. Through the weekend, that cold front settles along the central part of the state on Saturday, giving us a chance for an isolated storm or two before lifting north again on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure builds overhead Sunday into early next week, sending temperatures into the low to mid-90s and bringing the heat index to near 100 by Monday. As it tries to retreat west Tuesday into Wednesday, we'll introduce a low chance for storms.
