Tracking multiple rounds of storms into this weekend

FRIDAY: Some leftover storms will greet some of us out the door this morning. Those should start to fade later this morning but we might not be done with the rain. Temperatures will warm to near 90 for most of us between the clouds this afternoon. South of a stationary front, from Sedalia to Lake of the Ozarks, temperatures will top out in the low-mid 90’s and feel like triple digits again.

TONIGHT: We’ll need to watch out for a few storms late this afternoon into the evening to develop near that boundary. Some gusty winds or small hail would be possible with those favoring our southern half. At the same time, more storms will get up in Southern Iowa and head our way. Those won’t arrive until sunrise Saturday, so most of the night looks quiet with lows near 70.

EXTENDED: Those storms will move in tomorrow morning, affecting more of us than the previous few rounds have. There’s a low-end severe threat with these as well, with gusty winds the primary threat. We’re expecting these to fizzle by midday or so with another round possible by the evening. Where these develop is still a bit uncertain, with questions where the front will end up. We’ll be tracking where it ends up, with the best bet south of I-70. These would get going late Saturday evening into the overnight hours, but very well could end up south of the viewing area. We’ll start to move the humidity out of here Sunday, with highs in the low to mid 80’s going forward through much of next week.
