Tracking one last day of heat

THURSDAY: Hot again. Temperatures soar into the mid-upper 90’s, feeling close to 110 factoring in the humidity.

TONIGHT: A cold front will slide in this evening. That will provide a spark for storms to get up and going after 6-7 PM. Some of these could be on the strong side, with all of the heat and humidity making for ripe fuel. Gusty winds will be what we’re on the lookout for. These look to fizzle just south of I-70 around midnight as lows bottom out in the middle 70’s.

EXTENDED: That front will stall out momentarily into Friday. Another round of showers and storms will be possible Friday afternoon, which will bring a low-end severe threat. Where we don’t see the rain, temperatures could approach the low 90’s again. More storms are on the way into Saturday morning. These, too, will have the potential to be a bit strong with plenty of fuel around. If we see storms redevelop Saturday afternoon, we’ll be tracking those closely as well, but right now looks to be south of us. Once we finally move the storm chances out, we can enjoy the weather into Sunday. Highs will back off into the middle 80’s with the humidity taking a hike too for the first part of next week.
