Tracking intense heat for today and tomorrow

WEDNESDAY: Dangerously hot this afternoon. Temperatures will soar into the middle 90’s with lots of sunshine. When you take the humidity into account, it will feel like 105. Focus on staying hydrated throughout the day and take it easy if you have to be outdoors.

TONIGHT: Overnight lows only cool off into the middle 70’s so we don’t get much time to let the body rest. Another reason to stay hydrated throughout the day.

EXTENDED: Thursday’s looking just as hot, if not a few degrees worse. Highs look to stretch into the upper 90’s with that heat index nearing 110 in some spots. A frontal boundary looks to move in Thursday evening, bringing an end to the mini heatwave. One or two storms will be possible Thursday evening, but they’re going to be few and far between. Any that do get up and going will have a low-end severe threat, with winds the primary concern. Friday morning might have a few leftover showers and storms but is looking fine otherwise. Highs will top out near 90 with clouds setting us back enough early. This weekend will feature a pair of overnight storm chances Saturday and Sunday mornings. Details are still a bit murky on these but would bring better shots at some widespread rain and possibly a severe threat. Next week is looking more and more gorgeous once this front leaves by Monday.
