Tracking intense heat for the next few days

TUESDAY: Warm and starting to become a bit muggier. A light wind out of the southeast and plenty of sunshine will help temperatures into the low 90’s.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies are here to stay overnight. Lows will bottom out near 70.

EXTENDED: The heat really ramps up Wednesday and Thursday. Highs in the afternoons will top out in the upper 90’s, with a heat index in the ballpark of 105. Avoid doing any of the physically straining activities during the hottest parts of the day. Thankfully, this looks to be a short-lived outbreak of heat. A frontal boundary enters the picture late Thursday night, bringing some spotty storm chances. Probably, more importantly, the clouds will keep us closer to 90 in the afternoons through the weekend. Rain chances will be off and on through Sunday, with plenty of dry time in between rounds.
