Tracking the return of the 90’s today

FRIDAY: A tranquil end to a quiet week of weather this afternoon. Temperatures will get into the low 90’s with some more hazy sunshine.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear tonight, but as humid as it is, we can only cool off into the middle 70’s overnight.

EXTENDED:  With a warm start and nearly full sunshine Saturday, we’ll top out in the middle 90’s to start the weekend. The dangerous part comes in factoring in the humidity with a heat index easily over 100. Take it easy during the hottest parts of the day and be sure to drink plenty of water. The tail-end of a frontal boundary will move in late Saturday and hang out into Sunday. The chance for a couple of showers or storms will be there, but look to be scattered in nature, at best. If we don’t get wet Sunday, we’ll be right back where we were on Saturday, with triple-digit heat indices. A healthier shot at rain moves in Monday, backing off the heat, but only momentarily. The ridge intensifies Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing the heat back.
