Tracking rain to close the week

THURSDAY: Off to another warm start as southerly winds are trying to push us into the 90’s again. They’ll fall short with showers and storms putting the brakes on the heat this afternoon, but we’ll manage the upper 80’s. Those storms will slowly slide south into the afternoon and evening. Some could be strong, bringing some gusty winds and heavy rain.

TONIGHT: Showers and storms continue tonight as the front makes slow work of the viewing area. Lows will fall into the low 70’s.

EXTENDED: The widespread rain will last into the morning, giving way to isolated showers and storms by the afternoon. By the time this is all said and done tomorrow evening, many of us could be looking at 1-3” of rain which could rejuvenate some spotty flooding problems. Highs will be a bit cooler heading into the weekend, with low 80’s expected Friday. We’ll warm into the middle 80’s Saturday and Sunday with the rain trying to get held down in Arkansas for the weekend. We’ll hang on to the quiet weather pattern coming out of the weekend, with the 80’s sticking around next week.
