Tracking one last nice day before an active close to the week

more sunshine
KMIZ

WEDNESDAY: Another nice day set to unfold. Plenty of sunshine after some early morning clouds will help temperatures push into the upper 80’s. A southerly breeze will keep things mixed up, with some gusts up around 25 mph.

TONIGHT: We hang on to partly cloudy skies overnight. Lows will stay mild, in the upper 60’s.

EXTENDED: Storms look to return early tomorrow north of I-70. Many of us will be missed by this round, giving us a chance to warm to near 90 by the afternoon. With the humidity returning, the heat index will be close to 100 in some spots. Storms are expected to redevelop by the afternoon, which could pose a severe threat. Where these redevelop, will probably depend on how the morning unfolds, with a lot of the same areas seeing another round of storms. Gusty winds look to be the primary threat. Another round of storms will move in Friday morning, and again seems to favor our northern counties. Where we don’t pick up the storms in the morning, will have a chance to warm up by the afternoon. Yet another afternoon round of storms is expected, as a cold front approaches the area. These pose a severe threat as well but still a bit unsure what kind of environment will be in place. That frontal boundary looks to hang out with us this weekend, keeping the rain chances around but exactly where it ends up is still in question. Rain chances look to stick around next week, but look a bit lower with temperatures staying in the 80’s.
