Tracking a few storms through Saturday morning, heat continues
TONIGHT: A few strong storms possible for areas along and west of Highway 63 through early evening. Some of these could bring heavy rain and isolated damaging winds. Partly cloudy with isolated to scattered showers and storms overnight. Lows in the lower 70s.
TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny with a few showers and storms early. Highs in the upper 80s to around 90. Heat index 93-96 degrees.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking a weak cold front that will move through tomorrow, bringing a chance of storms near and south of I-44 during the day along with lower humidity by Saturday night into Sunday. Highs tomorrow reach around 90 with a heat index in the mid-90s before the front rolls through. We're still hot on Sunday with highs in the low 90s, but the heat index won't be an issue. Hot temperatures stick around for the first half of next week as we'll be on the periphery of high pressure with north/northwesterly winds aloft. This will keep humidity down and rain chances slim. Later in the week, a deeper low pressure system moves in from the north potentially sending a cold front our way by Thursday or Friday, bringing a better chance of rain and cooler temperatures to the area by next weekend.
