Tracking Rain and the Possibility of Snow Tuesday

Tonight: We will see spotty showers remain with us into the overnight hours and our low will bottom out at 41 degrees.

Tomorrow: Spotty showers will begin to die into the early morning hours, but chances of rain will begin to develop into the afternoon once again where we will top out at nearly 60.

Extended: Monday, winds begin to shift from the northwest to the southwest. Mostly sunny skies overhead will lead to a warming trend topping out nearly 70. This will be the nicest day of the week as Tuesday morning a cold front will begin to pass through Central Missouri. We will begin the day with rain showers, and as the temperatures begin to fall, we could see the rain switch to snow. Because of the warming temperatures on Monday, surface temperatures will still be moderately warm so we should not see accumulation on roadways. However, elevated surfaces such as grass and structures could see small amounts of accumulation just over a dusting. Wednesday we begin to warm up with the possibiltity of afternoon rain showers. Thursday we will be partly cloudy, but overnight into Friday morning another low-pressure system will move through the area bringing more rain.
