Tracking a stormy Wednesday
WEDNESDAY: Showers and storms will move through in two waves today. The first will impact the morning commute. These aren’t expected to be severe, but some lightning and downpours will start us off on an active note. Another round is slated to reignite along a frontal boundary early this afternoon. If we can recharge the atmosphere enough, some of these could become severe. The biggest threat to look out for will be damaging winds, but all modes are on the table. Highs will still manage to top out near 70 with a mild start raising the bar.
TONIGHT: The storms to watch will move east by 5 PM but some lingering showers and a rumble of thunder will be possible overnight. Lows will fall into the 40’s.
EXTENDED: Those stubborn showers will be a part of Thursday as well, along with some much cooler highs, in the 50’s. We move the clouds out of here for Friday, bumping temperatures into the low 70’s to close out the week. We’re tracking another disturbance Friday night into Saturday morning, bringing another round of showers to Mid-Missouri. That too will knock back highs Saturday into the 60’s with those clouds slow to leave. Sunshine returns Sunday, bringing highs back into the 70’s. Another disturbance keeps the rain chances close by heading into Monday.
