Tracking Chance for Severe Storms Wednesday
Tuesday Afternoon: Temperatures will continue to rise into the mid 50's for Central Missouri. Our overcast skies will remain with us throughout this afternoon.
Tonight: Temperatures begin to dip into the mid 40's for the overnight low thanks to our overcast sky conditions. We look to stay dry, but that won't last very long.
Extended: Wednesday morning our next low pressure system takes hold of Missouri bringing with it the chance for severe storms. We have issued an Weather Alert Day for Mid-Missouri. Our first round will begin around 7 am for counties west, but by 10 am most of Mid-Missouri will be seeing thunderstorms. With this morning system, there is a chance we could see strong winds and hail as our main threat. As the day continues, flash flooding chances continue to increase. With an already saturated ground, we could see large widespread puddling on roadways. Rain will then stay with us off and on until we get to Wednesday afternoon where we see our greatest chance for severe storms. These storms will then continue to push west as Wednesday night continues. Thursday rain will continue where we could see totals nearing up to 2 inches in some areas in Central Missouri. Then finally this week we look to be dry and our high temperatures near the mid 60s.
