Tracking a freezing cold start
THURSDAY: We’re waking up to some frigid temperatures but some sunshine will help us out into the afternoon. You'll still want to be mindful of any slick spots leftover from yesterday on those secondary roads. We’ll thaw out into the upper 30’s later today, with winds turning out of the south helping us a bit, too.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies are here to stay tonight, with lows falling into the upper 20’s.
EXTENDED: If some was good, more sunshine is better on Friday. We’ll move the mercury a little further, into the upper 40’s, to close out the week. You might want to get out and enjoy it while it’s here, because the rain’s on the way Saturday. It’ll move in pretty early in the day Saturday and looks to be both widespread and here throughout the day. Many of us stand to pick up about an inch or so by the time that system moves east. As it does on Sunday, it may rotate just enough moisture around into the cold air behind it to put some flurries down. If that’s the case Sunday, it won’t amount to anything problematic. We’re dry Monday and Tuesday to start the week before another disturbance moves in toward the Wednesday.
