Tracking our sunniest day this week

TODAY: High pressure is settling in, calming those winds down this morning. That’s leading to some more fog to deal with to start the day. That looks to clear up around midday, but could linger into the afternoon north of HWY 24. With sunshine returning for the rest of us, temperatures will reach into the middle 40’s.

TONIGHT: Clouds build back in later tonight, keeping lows in the middle 30’s.

EXTENDED: Our next storm system will start to approach tomorrow morning. Rain will move into our western counties early in the day, before pivoting toward the lake area toward the evening. Some snow looks to mix in overnight into Wednesday morning in some of our far southern counties as cooler air filters in. It doesn’t look like this will amount to anything more than a dusting around the lake and I-44 areas. A few flurries will be possible up to I-70, but nothing to worry about. We’re stuck in the clouds on the other side of that system going forward. Temperatures will be stuck in the 30’s Thursday, and that’s where they’ll hold into the weekend.
