Tracking dangerous ice to kick off the new year

wsw

FRIDAY: Freezing rain will continue to fall through the morning before switching over to snow this afternoon. Power outages will be possible as gusts pick up to 30 mph at times this morning. Roads are going to be treacherous to be on into the afternoon. Temperatures will top out in the low 30’s.

TONIGHT: Any untreated spots will be slick with ice and snow. Lows will fall into the middle 20’s.

EXTENDED: Another disturbance will move through Saturday bringing another shot at some snow tomorrow afternoon. It doesn’t appear to be anything serious, but another light dusting to a half-inch is expected, which could set the roads back. Things start to shape up much better Sunday with sunshine returning and highs pushing into the low 40’s. Settled weather looks to stick around for much of next week aside from Wednesday, where a slight chance of rain returns. Highs will bounce around in the mid to upper 40’s.
