Tracking a messy forecast for the next few days
MONDAY: Noticeably cooler today with highs stuck in the upper 30's after waking up in the 20's. We'll be tracking some sunshine later today so that will help a bit.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies move in, keeping temperatures in the mid to upper 20's.
EXTENDED: Tuesday is the start of what could be a few rounds of wintry weather we're tracking. A system will move into the area late Tuesday morning into the afternoon. Precipitation could start out as a mix of snow and sleet initially, transitioning to sleet and freezing rain into the afternoon. Eventually this will keep warming up to a cold rain Tuesday evening and stay liquid overnight. That rain sticks around Wednesday to start but could wrap up as some snow by the evening. Accumlations of any one precipitation type will be fairly light, but slick roads will be possible during the first part of Tuesday and Wednesday night. There's a lull in the activity expected to start Thursday, but another system's on the way. This one will move in from the south and bring a better shot at accumlating snow to end 2020. That snow will move in Thursday afternoon and could spill over into Friday. A lot we don't know about this second system, with timing, track, and temperature profile still being ironed out.
