Tracking a windy and warmer Wednesday

WINDY WARMER

WEDNESDAY: High pressure has moved off to our east this morning. That has in turn swung winds out of the south already. With us being sandwiched between a potent high east and a developing low to our northwest, winds will pick up today. Southerly winds sustained from 15-20 mph with gusts up around 35 will push temperatures back into the mid 60’s. With lots of sunshine expected, you’ll want the sunglasses as you head outside.

TONIGHT: Those winds stay out of the south overnight, which will keep temperatures held up in the upper 40’s.

EXTENDED: That will spring us forward into the low 70’s Thursday with some more sunshine and a southwest wind. With these windy and dry conditions, an elevated fire danger will be around so avoid any burning through tomorrow. Our windy conditions back off Friday as clouds increase. Temperatures will make it into the 60’s, but those clouds and a spot sprinkle will keep us from 70. Better rain chances move in Saturday as periods of showers will move through and stick around through Sunday. This system finally departs east Sunday night, but not before dropping 1-2 inches of rain behind. It’s looking drier to start next week, but cooler. Highs will fall into the 50’s Sunday and stay there Monday and Tuesday.
