Cold night ahead, Warming through the weekend

drying out this afternoon

THURSDAY: Showers are continuing to work through the area. You’ll want to keep the umbrella handy through this morning, but should be able to set it down finally this afternoon. A breeze out of the north will keep us from getting back to 50 today, even with a little late day sunshine.

TONIGHT: With clear skies moving in, there won’t be a lot keeping us from cooling off overnight. Temperatures will dive to near 30 degrees tonight, but a slight breeze might keep us away from a frosty start.

EXTENDED: With or without frost, it will be cold to start Friday with wind chills in the 20’s. But we’ll thaw out nicely into the afternoon, with highs reaching the middle 50’s. There’s a chance we run down 60 on Halloween, so any of those festivities look to be good from a weather perspective! A cold front slides through Sunday, knocking back highs to near 50. We’ll bounce back on Monday to start the workweek into the mid to upper 50’s, with the 60’s returning Tuesday. We may want to get used to the 60’s, as much of next week will be pretty quiet.
