Tracking a gloomy start to the week

DREARY

MONDAY: It will be a dreary start to the workweek for many of us. We may see a few pockets of drizzle to light showers throughout the day. The better bet is going to be south of I-70 and toward the afternoon to get wet. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40’s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: More of the same sticking around overnight, with pockets of showers sticking around. Overnight lows will only bottom out in the lower 40’s with clouds acting like a blanket of sorts.

EXTENDED: This frontal boundary will wobble back north tomorrow, getting temperatures at least into the upper 50’s to some lower 60’s. Some more showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible into the evening Tuesday. These look to be a little heavier, with amounts closer to 0.25-0.50”. Things dry out by Wednesday afternoon, and depending on how quick clouds leave, we could sneak into the upper 60’s. The warming trend continues Thursday with highs threatening 80. Another frontal boundary will put an end to that and bring back shower and thunderstorm chances late Thursday into Friday. Temperatures will drop into the 50’s Friday and stay there through the weekend.
