Tracking warmer weather followed by increasing rain chances this weekend

WARMING UP THIS WEEKEND

FRIDAY: It’ll be another bright and sunny afternoon to close out the workweek. Temperatures will pick up on the warming trend yesterday and make it into the low 80’s.

TONIGHT: We’ll keep the mostly clear skies so any outdoor plans-from high school football games to bonfires-will be comfortable. Overnight lows will fall into the low 60’s by daybreak.

EXTENDED: We’ll keep with the warming theme on Saturday with highs pushing into the upper 80’s to kick off the weekend. A breeze out of the southwest will try to keep things stirred up with gusts around 20 mph. This is out ahead of a cold front set to move through. Rain is starting to look more likely than it has over the past few days. Timing would likely hold off until Sunday afternoon into the evening before moving into Mid-Missouri. Depending on the timing of things, we could see some rain lingering into Monday morning. What we do know is coming behind this front is some cooler weather. We’ll be tracking temperatures in the low 80’s Sunday into the low 70’s Monday. Another reinforcing shot of cooler air will back highs off into the low to mid 60’s by Wednesday and Thursday.
