Tracking a hot and humid end to the weekend

TODAY: Many of our eastern counties saw some heavy rainfall overnight, but we should continue to dry out as we move toward mid-morning. A couple more storms are possible by the afternoon, but many of us will stay dry. Look for high temperatures near 90 with heat index values around 100ยบ.

TONIGHT: Some more rain and thunder may move through as we transition into our work week. Lows will fall into the mid 70s.

EXTENDED: Several rounds of storms are expected through the next 7 days. An active weather pattern that could drop widespread amounts of 3-4" of rain over several days could be possible, with localized higher amounts. There's a chance some of these storms could contain a severe risk, but confidence in that is low at this time. Temperatures look to stay cooled off due to these storm chances too.
