Tracking a warm afternoon leading us into the weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Hot & humid. Temperatures top out around 90, feels like temperatures near 100. A few spotty storms are possible, especially south of I-70

TONIGHT: Anything going will fall apart after sunset with lows backing off into the low 70’s.

EXTENDED: We get to do this again Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low 90’s, feeling close to 100. Our best chance to get all the way to the century mark for a heat index looks like it’ll be Sunday, but it’ll be hot any way you slice it. Can’t completely rule out a stray storm or two, but high pressure parked on top of us will squash a lot of chances. A cold front will bring the return of some meaningful rain chances Monday with an active week behind it. Northwesterly flow aloft, along with just about daily shots at rain will make sure temperatures cool off.
