Tracking the return of spotty storm chances

WARMING UP

THURSDAY: Another morning we could be waking up to some fog in some spots. It doesn’t look like a widespread of a problem, but if your travels take you through one of those low-lying areas, might add a few minutes to the drive. Temperatures look to get into the upper 80’s and low 90’s this afternoon. The afternoon pop-up storm chances look to return as well but won’t be for everyone. Latest data this morning suggests along and south of I-70 would be the favored locations to get wet.

TONIGHT: Anything that gets going this afternoon will dissipate after sunset. Overnight lows back off into the low 70’s again.

EXTENDED: Friday looks pretty similar to today with a widely isolated storm possible in the afternoon. Highs will get into the low 90’s Friday through Sunday, with heat index values nearing 100. Looks like another toasty weekend in store, so plan accordingly, but rain chances will stay away. They return on Monday as a cold front approaches the area. Depending on the timing, we could see another hot afternoon ahead of it to start the week. Depending on how much progress it makes through the area, we could see more rain chances behind Monday. Whether it stalls out or not, temperatures look to take a break from the 90’s.
