Tracking afternoon storms and heat

TODAY: Showers and storms have begun to push into the viewing area, and we could see some flashes of lightning and moderate rainfall as they continue to move through mid-Missouri. We are still expecting some dry time for the day, as well as some humid conditions. Actual temperatures will be in the upper 80s for the day with heat index values in the upper 90s.

TONIGHT: More storms are possible as we head into our Wednesday as another disturbance moves through parts of Missouri. Lows will fall into the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: Hot and humid conditions will persist as we move into Thursday and Friday with heat index values near 100 degrees. Small storm chances are also present through the end of the week. Luckily, this weekend is trending to be drier as we look ahead to holiday celebrations.
